Measured by functional ELISA. Immobilized recombinant human VEGFR2 ECD binds recombinant human VEGF165 and reference anti-VEGFR2 antibody (ramucirumab class) with EC50 values in the ng/mL range.

VEGFR2 (KDR/Flk-1) is the primary signal-transducing receptor for VEGF-A and the central switch of angiogenesis. Its seven immunoglobulin-like extracellular domains bind VEGF ligands, triggering kinase activation that drives endothelial proliferation, migration and vascular permeability — the engine of both developmental vasculature and tumor blood supply. The receptor is itself a validated drug target: ramucirumab blocks VEGFR2 in gastric and lung cancer, aflibercept exploits the domain structure as a ligand trap, and numerous anti-angiogenic programs measure VEGF–VEGFR2 engagement directly. The full extracellular domain presented here supports ligand-binding and blocking assays, anti-VEGFR2 antibody screening, and receptor-level characterization of anti-angiogenic therapeutics.
